OUR STORY

Saline Fabrication was born out of our love for creating expert custom fabrication work for our clients at Saline Landscape Company in Duluth, MN. There was such satisfaction in meeting clients specific needs that we continued to make personalization a priority in our business. Expert onsite fabrication is essential for great landscaping and we have continued to invest in our fabricators and our fabrication studio so that we can continue to prioritize every custom request we receive. That natural outflow brought us to highlight our expert fabrication of which we are very proud. Innovative, outside-of-the-box, and up for any challenge, Saline Fabrication is here to make your custom metalwork ideas come to life.

We specialize in high-quality custom metalwork for both indoor and outdoor living environments. Our work includes modern steel planter boxes, railings, custom metal stairs, steel retaining walls, privacy screens, pergolas, and architectural elements—each designed and built with precision, durability, and craftsmanship.

Whether you're enhancing an outdoor space, introducing a refined industrial edge to your interior, or creating something entirely outside the box, we’re here to build it for you!

FAQ

Do you do on‑site welding and installation?

Yes — for most projects we are able to perform on‑site fabrication and installation. We coordinate with landscape teams and provide 3D renderings when appropriate.

What materials and finishes do you use for outdoor work?

We use structural steel with a gauge/thickness appropriate for each project. Steel develops a natural patina when outdoors. On raw steel, a natural patina will develop from anywhere from one to six months depending on exposure to the elements. Natural patina presents as a warm orange color with a soft mottled look, fitting naturally into most landscapes. In certain situations we can use a clear sealant or paint to delay or reduce the natural rusting process. See our product photos for examples.

How long does a custom project typically take?

Timelines vary by scope; small custom pieces can be weeks, larger engineered installs months. We provide milestone schedules during quoting.
